Jared Smith is an award-winning composer and conductor based in Los Angeles, distinguished for his innovative and nuanced orchestral compositions. With a versatile and expansive body of work, he has crafted scores that range from adrenaline-fueled action films and compelling documentaries to intimate romances and incisive comedies, demonstrating both emotional depth and technical sophistication.

Jared’s early career was shaped through collaborations with some of Hollywood’s most esteemed composers, including Kris Bowers. His contributions to critically acclaimed projects such as The Wild Robot (Academy Award-nominated), Bridgerton, Marvel’s Secret Invasion, The Color Purple, Disney’s Haunted Mansion, and Bob’s Burgers reflect a breadth of stylistic fluency and narrative insight.

As both composer and conductor, Jared has engaged with distinguished ensembles, including the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica, and has led recording sessions at premier scoring venues such as Warner Bros.’ Eastman Scoring Stage in Los Angeles and AIR Studios in London.

Recipient of the prestigious Reel Change Film Fund grant for emerging composers, Jared’s artistic perspective has been enriched by international study and residencies at institutions like the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. He holds a Master’s degree in Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games from Berklee College of Music (Valencia, Spain), a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies from Georgia State University, and has undertaken advanced training at the Film Scoring Academy of Europe in Varna, Bulgaria, as well as further studies in Paris.

Most recently, Jared composed the score for Stay, which will premiere on Disney+ on October 9.

He is also the founder of Maestro Studios, a comprehensive music production company dedicated to creating evocative and compelling soundtracks for film, television, and multimedia.
